We loved celebrating Christmas as a class ! For our Christmas concert, we travelled to Wales and sang a Welsh song. We also dressed up and showed off our amazing smiles !!
When we came back to school, we celebrated New Years together
We made a mindmap of the stories we know already and would like to read again
We all read the story of the Three Little Pigs and made their houses using playdough and sticks
We used hay, sticks and bricks and houses to protect the pigs from the wolf.
We learnt all about the rainbow and the importance of being kind to our friends. To finish the week off, we made a stain glass window fish scene for all the other classes to see during break time.
We worked super hard to sequence the story of the Gingerbread man and made our own Gingerbread men as a group.
We celebrated Lunar New year as a class and made a yummy stir-fry to share as a family . We also learnt what "year of the ..." animals we are. In Dosbarth Arian we have 5 horses, 2 goats , 2 monkeys and 1 dog
We teamed up with gwyrdd and used enfys to make the giant a plate of food - we worked on cutting "big and small" and "thin and thick"
This week we learnt about St Valentine's and made some yummy chocolates and a card to give to someone we love.
To celebrate the last day of the "Once Upon a Time" topic , we all dressed up as our favourite characters - Don't we look amazing !!
We smelt and tasted lots of different ingredients such as lemon and golden syrup during our cookery session and then added them to our pancakes.
We also celebrated St Davids Day as a school and created a video of us saying welsh words .
We loved going swimming this week , we did lots of slashing and diving under the water to collect the toys. We also learnt how to stay safe in the water.
We learnt about the 4 different seasons and made posters of how the trees look in each season. On Friday we celebrated Downsyndrome awareness day by wearing and decorating odd socks.
We completed a science experiment using Bicarb and coloured vinegar and watched and commented on the reaction we could see. We did lots of work around the colours of the rainbow and worked on spelling.
This week it was nice and sunny, so we used our new outdoor area lots to complete messy activities that we used to make window displays for our classroom.
CCFC came into school to teach us some football skills which we all loved (especially meeting Emily the dog) .
We also got ready for Easter and made lots of lovely decorations and Easter cakes for our families.
